"Peace was restored in heaven by our Lord and King, Jesus Christ!"

The triumphant entry of Jesus our Lord into Jerusalem as the Messiah riding on a colt (Zechariah 9:9) came one week before He was to be brutally murdered. As He approached the City of Jerusalem on a beautiful Monday morning, His disciples cried out as they approached the great city:

"saying: 'Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!' " ‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:38‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

These words the disciples yelled out while they escorted our Lord Jesus into Jerusalem was from the book of Psalms. (Psalms 118:26) Except, the disciples added a phrase -- "Peace in Heaven". Did they miss-quote the Psalms, or was there a reason? The disciples didn't know it at the time but unbeknownst to them, these three simple words reflected a deep sadness being felt by everyone in heaven at precise moment (Revelations 5:1-4). The disciples were rejoicing, excited, focused only on escorting our Lord Jesus into the City of Jerusalem.

Question is: How is it that heaven itself needed peace? What deep sorrow could possibly exist in the presence of God the Father?

In Heaven, at the moment God held out His right hand and an angel yelled out, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?", our Lord Jesus on Earth was approaching Jerusalem riding a colt. In heaven, the angel's question of who was worthy was responded to with stone silence. No one was found worthy to take the scroll from God's right hand. Not the angels, the twenty-four elders, the four living creatures, no one! (Revelations 4:6-11) That was the moment of great sadness in heaven. Not even the angels who worship God flying above His throne created just for that purpose were worthy.

After some time in heaven had passed, as all were grieving their unworthiness, the answer came. It came in the form of Jesus Christ who had just rose from the grave and entered into heaven as both a lamb, and as a Man, and presented Himself to God the Father. (Revelations 5:5-7) When the disciples on Earth yelled out "Peace in heaven" during the Lord Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem, they unknowingly proclaimed to everyone in heaven in the presence of God the Father that the One who was qualified to take the scroll from God's right hand will arrive soon, and that He is now entering into the city of Jerusalem as prophesied! They were in a sense saying to the hosts of heaven, the twenty-four elders, and the four living creatures before God, "Be patient! He's coming!!"

After the Lord Jesus' prophetic entrance into Jerusalem, what followed as we know was horrific. He was wrongly accused and arrested, tortured, tried and found guilty of nothing. He was sentenced to death, crucified on the cross, and died on a Friday afternoon. He was then buried, in the grave until the 3rd day, and powerfully resurrected that beautiful Easter Sunday morning. Now, the timing of the following is extremely important. After He resurrected, He did not ascend into heaven right away to present Himself to God the Father. He waited. He needed a witness on Earth. That came when Mary Magdalene was approaching the tomb and found it empty. When she later recognized him, notice the significance of His response.

"Jesus said to her, 'Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’” John 20:17 NKJV

Mary then went on her way to find the Apostles. Later, in the book of John, it reads that the Lord Jesus appears to the Apostles, allowing them to touch Him. What changed? What happened between Him seeing Mary and not allowing her to touch Him, and later in the presence of the Apostles Him allowing all of them to touch Him?

After Mary witnessed the resurrected Christ, as she was running to tell the Apostles, the Lord Jesus had a make His divine appointment with God our Father in heaven. It was then that in the Book of Revelations says that the Lamb of God appeared before the throne of God the Father. Our newly resurrected Lord and Savior appeared as a "lamb as though it had been slain". It was at that moment that someone in the presence of God shouted out:

"Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” Revelations 5:5 NKJV

That's when the Lord Jesus, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, walked up to God the Father and took the scroll from God's very hand. The Twenty Four Elders surrounding the throne bowed to the ground, took off their crowns and cast them before the feet of the Lamb, our sweet Lord Jesus. (Revelations 5:8-10) Sorrow "in heaven" was replaced with "peace" and rejoicing. The words of the disciples of Christ who shouted "Peace in Heaven" when Christ was riding on the colt into Jerusalem came to fruition. Peace was restored in heaven by our Lord and King, Jesus Christ!

God bless you in Christ Jesus the Lord, always.
