Inspiration of the Day - Power Over Your Purpose

"When your soul is made new, born into a new life, everything you once held dear becomes secondary."

Inspiration of the Day - Power Over Your Purpose

You are here now, represented by layers upon layers of decisions and judgements over your life that led to outcomes that eventually built you into the person you are today. Coming to Christ and relinquishing your mind's control over to Jesus (Galatians 2:20), to allow yourself to be vulnerable and be trained from being carnally and physically minded, to being spiritually minded and submitted and led by Him instead (Romans 8:6), is an impossibility if done by your own reason, logic, effort or strength. (Romans 8:7) But the reward for doing so is great. Because coming to Christ also means that all your past decisions and judgements along with all the related outcomes you look back on now with regret, are taken by Christ and buried in the tomb with Him where He once laid so long ago. (Romans 6:4)

"This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him." 2 Timothy 2:11 (NKJV)

This life, this "temptation", (James 1:12) is aimed at getting you to feel comfortable living here on this Earth. To forget if not ignore the life that is to come once you pass. To feel at home in a place that does not have a future for the children and family of God. This temptation of life is to get your eye off God our Father, and His only Son Jesus our Lord, and focus on this world, its goods and worthless gifts. (1 John 2:17) Those goods and gifts come in the form of admiration from others, power and success, money and possessions, lust of the flesh and of this world, and anything that can fall under the saying, "you can't take it with you when you die!" (1 Timothy 6:7) When we leave this world, nothing we paid homage to and worked so hard for means anything (Ecclesiastes 1:14) if in the end, it wasn't done purely to honor God and to serve others before yourself. (Matthew 22:37-40)

The power to live a new life, a life born again, (John 3:3-6) comes from a transformation of your soul from one that was once dead walking and living a life on this earth, (Matthew 8:22) to one that is alive, illuminated by power that comes from the One that brings your dead soul to life. (1 Corinthians 6:14) But even after your soul becomes spiritually reborn, your struggles have only just begun. Your struggles are not only with temptations of this world, but also with your own body still living on this Earth. With your soul no longer a resident of this world (1 Peter 2:11), but rather a member of the House of God (Ephesians 2:19), you can no longer be comfortable living on this Earth as your soul continues to wear this filthy garment (Isaiah 64:6) the bible calls our flesh. (Galatians 5:17) Our soul made new longs to go home to the kingdom of our living God and His Son. (Colossians 1:13) Your body aches to be near the One from whom your reborn soul's power comes, a longing that comes with a sharp sense of being home-sick.

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)

When your soul is made new, born into a new life, everything you once held dear becomes secondary. The power of your new soul no longer has a selfish focus or self-serving intent as it once did when it was dead. (2 Corinthians 5:15) You now do everything with a renewed sense of purpose and eternal impact. (Romans 8:5; Galatians 6:8) Your focus and purpose now becomes an unquenchable drive to do everything for the honor and glory of God, and to serve others as you would serve God the Father Himself. You do it all in a name greater than your own, in the powerful name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ the King. (Colossians 3:17) Examine your focus today and awaken your purpose. Wake up, o' child of God!

God bless you in Christ Jesus the Lord, always.
